Steven J. Landzberg, Managing Partner of RockShelter Capital and Contract CFO for the CEO’s Right Hand is a highly experienced, successful, results-oriented executive, with over 25 years of investment and advisory experience.  He founded and built RockShelter Capital,  the management, investment and financial services firm focused on providing:

•Executive management and business plan development and execution services•Strategic, Financial and M&A Advisory•Capital structure optimization and capital raising services•Financial management services including cash and liquidity management as well as process and recordkeeping/reporting services•Structured investing, merchant banking capabilities•Development of investing/portfolio management strategies

Since RockShelter’s inception in 2007, Landzberg has also take on positions including Board Advisory of a major coal producer, CIO of the family office Downtown Capital, CFO of Global Energy Efficiency, a deal-team Member of Blue Equity, a Principal of XRoads Solutions Group and the CEO of Covenant Dentistry. 

Prior to 2007, Mr. Landzberg’s direct institutional financial advisory, capital raising and investing experience has been extensive. He was a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager of the Credit Opportunities fund at Advent Capital Management with $3B of AUM and CIO of Downtown Capital with $300mm+.  Previously, Mr. Landzberg founded and was business head of the Barclays Capital special situations business with AUM of $1.5B+.  Mr. Landzberg evaluated and capitalized, executed, managed and traded in the market for distressed and special situation debt and equity investments with the objective of realizing attractive risk-adjusted returns.  He focused on the fixed income and distressed markets, where he was actively involved in investment evaluation, monitoring, and trading.  Preceding Barclays, Mr. Landzberg was a work-out officer at JPMorgan and a real estate mergers & acquisition specialist at Lazard Freres.

Among the CFO, advisory, capital raising, restructuring  and investment involvements of Mr. Landzberg are:  

CFO/CRO for a major financial services and apparel Company

Angel investor and CFO of Global Energy Efficiency.  Successfully developed a business and capital raising plan resulting in the quadrupling of sales in 2 years and the raising of $10mm of capital.

Advisor to the Board of a major thermal coal producer.  Successfully arranged over $50mm in new financing and advised on the restructuring of $300mm+ recapitalization

Successfully raised equity capital 8-figure capital for: Evans and Paul, Shale Support services, Evologie, Planet Hollywood, RockResorts Hotels and Steiner Sports

Facilitated the Exit and/or re-cap Transactions for numerous clients including GLDShop.com, Sayre Healthcare and All Year Real Estate,  a $1b+ owner of world-class hotels and buildings in the NYC Tri-State area

Restructuring advisor to major private-label apparel manufacturer

CIO for the family office, Downtown Capital and PE firm, Blue Equity 

Advisor to the Board of a major sand producer for the shale industry

CFO of ReserveBar.com.  Developed business, financial and capital raising plan, positioning the company for growth from a $1mm start-up to a major player in the online-spirits delivery business.  Oversaw the raise of $5mm and an Exit

Led mandates/engagements for XRoads Solutions to optimize operations and raise capital for the Ambassador Cruise Company

Led bank group of Metallurg and Eljer Manufacturing when at JPMorgan as work-out officer where he was involved in bank lender work-out negotiations involving over $100mm of debt.

Chairman of Creditor Committee and lead investor at Pueblo Supermarkets, where he led the restructuring of the balance sheet and the exchange of debt for equity involving over $100mm of debt

Led bank group of Olympia & York USA when at JPMorgan as work-out officer where he was involved in bank lender work-out negotiations.  Capitalization was well into the $-Billions

Education and Affiliations

Steve has a Masters of Business with Dean’s Honors from Columbia Business School with concentrations in finance and international business.  He completed his undergraduate studies at University of Pennsylvania, where he was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with Honors.

Steve has been previously FINRA registered: Series 24,7 and 63, previously licensed NY Real Estate Salesperson and serves on numerous non-profit Boards and investment management oversite committees
